Dor Bass is the founder of D2r Internet Holdings and the builder and editor of App Store Hall of Records, where he turns public App Store data into original records, data studies, and plain-English guides for everyday iPhone users.
Dor holds a BA in Business, focused on Web Science, and an MA in Government, focused on Political Marketing. He has spent years building content-driven websites and digital products in the digital media and advertising industry, hands-on experience with how web content is made, structured, and kept genuinely useful, which is the background behind how this site is researched, written, and organized.
What I do here
Everything on this site runs on a dataset I built and maintain myself. That hands-on work, rather than a byline alone, is the expertise behind the records and studies you read here:
- Designed and operate the pipeline that tracks and refreshes metadata for tens of thousands of App Store apps.
- Wrote the fixed, published rules behind every record board, so each ranking is reproducible rather than a matter of opinion.
- Author the original Data Studies, analyses computed directly from that dataset rather than repackaged from elsewhere.
- Set and enforce the editorial standards every guide on the site is held to.
How the work is done
Record boards are computed from public App Store metadata using the rules published on each board. Guides are drafted with AI assistance and then reviewed against those editorial standards for plain language, honest framing, and durable accuracy; the data behind them is first-party. The site is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple.
