Freemium is still the default model here: put the app out for free, then find another way to make money off it. Out of the 12,015 apps tracked, 10,686 are free and 1,329 charge something, which works out to roughly an 88.9% to 11.1% split. Paid apps are clearly the exception. But when developers do decide to charge, they mostly skip the bargain bin. 307 apps sit between $0.01 and $0.99, 358 land between $1 and $2.99, 221 fall in the $3 to $4.99 range, 208 sit between $5 and $9.99, and 235 cost $10 or more. That top tier, $10 and up, is nearly as large as the cheapest bracket. So pricing really breaks into two camps: apps that give themselves away and monetize elsewhere, and apps priced like intentional premium tools aimed at a specific audience. The casual middle almost doesn't exist.

App count and rating volume don't line up at all. A handful of well known names pull in most of the ratings, not the publishers cranking out the biggest catalogs. ADP Mobile Solutions has racked up 4,381,971 ratings, Indeed Job Search sits at 4,000,724, Microsoft Teams has 3,368,394, Zoom Workplace has 3,206,195, and DoorDash - Dasher has 2,461,966. Any one of these apps has earned more ratings on its own than the top publishers manage across their entire lineups. 梦 周 publishes more apps in this category than anyone else, 60 in total, and has exactly 0 ratings to show for it. INOVATECH NETWORK SA comes next with 52 apps and 3,519 ratings. APSIYON BILISIM SISTEMLERI SANAYI VE TICARET A.S has 49 apps but only 150 ratings. Oracle America, Inc. has 47 apps and 2,415 ratings. Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting Deutschland GmbH has 46 apps and, again, 0 ratings. Octys LLC rounds out the list with 44 apps and just 4 ratings. Add up the top three publishers by app count and they still control less than 0.1% of all ratings in the category. Publishing more apps just doesn't buy attention here.

What actually holds people's attention in Business is workplace infrastructure and labor platforms, not the raw number of listings. ADP Mobile Solutions and Indeed Job Search, both built around payroll and employment, top the rating counts. Microsoft Teams and Zoom Workplace follow right behind as the collaboration tools nearly everyone at work is stuck using, and DoorDash - Dasher shows up next, carrying the gig economy side of the category. Across all 12,015 apps there are 63,952,296 ratings total, but only 5,774 of them have any public rating at all, and the median lands at 4.5. Engagement stays narrow: most apps never get rated, the ones that do skew positive, and a small cluster of genuinely useful work tools soaks up most of the ratings.
