A Pixel-Art Widget Speaks 178 Tongues

The oddest name on this whole board isn't a translation agency, and it isn't some scripture app quietly racking up languages either. It's a widget. Oshi Island - Pixel Art Widget, built by developer Ryo Tsudukihashi, sits at #1 with 178 listed languages, a niche home-screen customization tool that somehow got translated further than almost anything else on the App Store. And the lead isn't small. #2, Open Food Facts - Product Scan, comes in at 123 languages, which puts 55 languages between first place and second, roughly half again what #2 has to offer.

Widen the view to the full top 100 and that gap only grows. The board stretches from 178 at the top down to 71 at #100, and the top ten average works out to 2.2 times the median across all hundred entries. So the leaders aren't just a bit ahead of everyone else; they're operating on a different scale entirely, and this is a list that already only counts apps translated into at least one language in the first place.

One Studio, Five Slots

Past the outlier at #1, the real story here is repetition. EVERAPPZ SL alone lands four apps in the top ten: Evervideo, Evervideo: Player All Format, Evertag, and Evermusic (plus Flacbox), every one of them at 117 languages. That's almost certainly one Spanish media-tools studio running a single shared localization pipeline across its whole catalog, not five separate translation efforts. It's the tightest cluster anywhere on the board, four apps landing at exactly the same language count.

The other repeat pattern comes from a person rather than a company. The name Alok Singh turns up 15 times across the top 100. On a board already thick with studio duplicates, that kind of individual footprint, whether it's a developer, a translator, or just a listed contact, stands out as its own small oddity next to the corporate clusters.

A Fast Board, A Fresh Leader

This is also one of the more restless boards around. The crown has changed hands 6 times over the tracked period, and the top ten shuffles by an average of 2.3 places per window. That kind of churn suggests these language counts get updated and resubmitted pretty often rather than staying frozen for years. Open Food Facts - Product Scan is a good example: it held #1 for 15 of the last 17 tracked days, showed up fresh in the top ten during that same window, and only lost the top spot to Oshi Island in July 2026.

There's something telling in the fact that a barcode-scanning food database and a pixel-art widget have been trading the #1 spot at all. It says a lot about who actually bothers chasing maximum language coverage. It's rarely the big household names doing it. More often it's the smaller, single-purpose tools that keep resubmitting translations long after anyone else would've stopped.
