One Title, One Continent of Storage

There's real distance between first and second place here. Assassin's Creed Shadows comes in at 142 GB, which is more than double and a half the size of whatever sits in second, Total War: ROME REMASTERED at 55.0 GB. Keep going down the list and the gap doesn't close much: Total War: WARHAMMER II (44.0 GB), Total War: THREE KINGDOMS (42.8 GB), Life is Strange 2 (39.5 GB). Assassin's Creed Shadows is still tens of gigabytes ahead of every single one.

Zoom out to the full top 100 and the same lopsidedness shows up. Sizes run from that 142 GB peak all the way down to 3.7 GB at #100, and the top 100 as a group adds up to 36 times its own median size. Most of what's on this list is unremarkable in size. It's really just a small cluster at the top, one game especially, dragging the average way past where the bulk of the list actually lives.

A Studio That Owns the Weight Class

Ignore the #1 spot for a second and a different story emerges: this isn't really a ranking of 100 separate apps so much as a spotlight on one publisher. Feral Interactive Ltd turns up 35 times in the top 100 and takes eight of the top ten slots by itself. Total War: ROME REMASTERED, WARHAMMER II, THREE KINGDOMS, Life is Strange 2, Company of Heroes 2 Collection, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, GRID Legends, and Total War: WARHAMMER all belong to them. Feral has built a whole business around porting console and PC scale games to Mac and mobile without cutting the assets down to fit, and the size chart is basically a receipt for that approach.

Resident Evil Village for Mac, from CAPCOM, is the one break in the pattern inside the top ten, landing at #10 with 31.7 GB. It's proof that oversized ports aren't strictly a Feral thing, even if they're close to it. Assassin's Creed Shadows stands apart from all of them anyway: a Ubisoft title that outsizes even Feral's biggest releases by nearly triple.

A Board That Doesn't Sit Still

You'd think a board built on slow, gigabyte-heavy ports would barely move, but that's not what's happened. The top spot has changed hands 11 times over the tracked window, and top-ten rankings have shuffled by an average of 3.6 places, more like the churn on a trending mobile chart than anything you'd expect from hundred-gigabyte installs. At one point 我的世界：移动版 pushed into the top ten and even grabbed #1 for a single day, a strange sight next to all that heavyweight company, before the crown swung back to the size giants and, most recently, landed on Assassin's Creed Shadows in Jul 2026.

That current leader carries a mixed reputation to go with its size. Across 100 reviews, sentiment lands at 0.12: players like the graphics and setting well enough, but they keep bringing up performance issues, crashes, and update problems. So on this board, at least, the biggest app and the best-running app aren't necessarily the same thing.
