抖音, from Beijing Douyin Technology Co., Ltd., now sits atop the board with 52.1M ratings, edging out YouTube's 48.6M. Two giants just traded places, and that swap is basically the whole story of who wears the crown right now. This kind of turnover almost never happens: the top spot has flipped only 1 time in the tracked period, and that was back in Jul 2026. 抖音 didn't waste time settling in either, holding #1 on 28 of the last 35 tracked days. The takeover was fast and nearly total from the start, which is notable given this is a position the app had never held before. 抖音 wasn't even in the top ten previously, so it skipped the climb entirely and just showed up at the summit.

What the Rest of the Top Ten Looks Like

Below the two leaders, the drop-off is gradual rather than steep. Spotify sits third with 41.4M, followed by Instagram at 29.3M and Facebook at 27.9M, a real step down from the top pair, though still massive numbers in their own right. DoorDash (22.8M), the video editor 剪映 (21.7M), Roblox (19.7M), and WhatsApp (18.4M) round out the ten. So this whole fight for the crown is playing out on top of a wide base of apps that already have mass adoption. Nobody down here is running away from the pack.

Pull back to the full top 100 and the scale gets even clearer. The list stretches down to 3.9M at #100, and the top 100 collectively runs at 7.6 times the median value within that group, which says a lot about how top-heavy this board is, even among apps that are all massively rated to begin with. Google appears 4 times across the top 100, more than any other maker, and that kind of repetition tells you how concentrated the attention really is among just a handful of companies.

A Stable Elite, Despite the Swap

Everything else barely budged despite the shakeup at #1. Average movement among top-ten positions across the tracked window works out to just 1.6 places. So the field absorbed a change at the very top without much ripple effect below it. There's a decisive new leader now, sitting above a group that otherwise looks settled, and the changeover already feels like it's been folded into the board's usual order.
