The App With the Highest Version Number

From 980 Down to 510

Gangstar Vegas - Mafia action is sitting at version 980 right now, the highest number anywhere on this board. RuneScape isn't far behind at 951, just 29 versions back, so the top of the chart is genuinely close. Balls Master: Brick Breaker comes in at 938, and Hero Hero Clicker - Idle Games sits at 924, which means the top four are bunched within 56 versions of each other.

Things open up quickly after that. By #100 the version count has fallen to 510, and the spread between the leader and the tail is wide enough that Gangstar Vegas is running at 1.9× the median across the whole top 100. Whatever's happening here, it isn't happening inside the top ten. It's happening underneath it.

Same Developer, Different Counters

Playcus Limited landed four apps in this top 25 on its own: Cross-Stitch: Coloring Book at 879, Cross Stitch Coloring Art at 872, Cross Stitch Coloring Mandala at 667, and Cross Stitch:Craft & Art at 653. Same studio, same basic concept, four separate counters climbing at four different paces, almost like each app has its own internal clock.

LIN Television Corporation takes this even further, showing up 22 times across the full top 100. That's not a single app getting updated obsessively, it's a whole network of local station apps all climbing the same ladder at once.

Then there's a tie that nobody could have planned for. Yandex Go: Taxi Food Delivery, Yango: taxi, food, delivery, Fasten Russia: Taxi, Slayer Legend, and Skeepers Creators all sit at exactly 700. Five different developers, five unrelated apps, and one identical round number. That's not a coincidence of iteration, that's a marketing team somewhere deciding 700 just looked right.

The Crown Just Changed Hands

The top spot recently changed hands, passing from Block Out! - Color Sort Puzzle to Gangstar Vegas - Mafia action in September 2026. Gangstar Vegas didn't even have to climb for it, it entered the top ten and went straight to #1. It's held that position for 44 of the last 99 tracked days, which sounds like a lock until you notice the crown itself has changed hands 3 times in that same stretch. On average, a top ten entry has moved 9 places across the tracking period. Nothing up here stays put for long.

What 149 Reviews Actually Say

The sentiment score for Gangstar Vegas - Mafia action comes in mixed at 0.15, and it hasn't really budged either way. Across 149 reviews, the themes that keep coming up are ads, gameplay, controls, money, and graphics, and the complaints pile up almost entirely around one of those: advertising that's excessive and intrusive, even as players keep saying the actual gameplay is fun.

That gap is worth sitting with for a second. A version count of 980 means this app has been reworked and patched and pushed further than nearly anything else on the App Store. But the review data says none of that iteration has touched the one thing people keep complaining about. Shipping 980 versions doesn't automatically mean you've shipped the fix anyone actually wanted.
