The Crown Just Changed Hands

X had held onto the 17+ crown for the whole time we've been tracking this board, until it didn't. 抖音 took over in July 2026, and the numbers since then leave no doubt about how lopsided this is: over the 36 days we've been watching, the top spot has only changed hands once, with 抖音 sitting at #1 for 29 of them. That's not a narrow win. It's closer to a rout.

X hasn't gone anywhere, to be clear. It's parked at #4 with 10.9M ratings, which would be enough to run away with almost any other board out there. On this one, it can't even reach second.

What 52.1 Million Actually Means

抖音's 52.1M ratings work out to 37 times the median for the whole top 100, and that median already includes apps most people would call massive. Take Robinhood: Trading & Investing, sitting tenth with 4.8M ratings. You'd have to stack up nearly eleven Robinhoods just to match 抖音 by itself, and Robinhood is nobody's idea of a small app.

Honestly, the real fight here isn't for first place. It's for second. 剪映 - 抖音官方AI创作神器, from 深圳市脸萌科技有限公司, holds that spot with 21.7M ratings, an enormous total in its own right, and 抖音 still beats it by a margin bigger than X's entire ratings count at fourth. The top two apps on this board both come out of the same creative ecosystem, which says something about where attention is flowing.

Names You'd Expect, and One You Wouldn't

Shenzhen Tencent Tianyou Technology Ltd, the studio behind 和平精英 at #3 with 15.4M ratings, has seven entries in the top 100. No other developer even comes close. That alone tells you what fills out a 17+ leaderboard: mobile games and short-video platforms, most of them leaning on combat, user-generated content, or some mix of both, which is basically the recipe for landing an adults-only tag to begin with.

Then there's OpenTable, parked at #7 with 5.5M ratings, wedged right between short-video giants and a battle-royale shooter. A restaurant reservation app cracking the top ten of an adult-content leaderboard actually makes sense once you remember these ratings reflect whatever technically triggers a 17+ label, not what the app is actually for. Intuit Credit Karma, at #6 with 7.7M, follows the same logic: it's a financial app, no violence or nudity anywhere in sight, and it still gets gated the same way.

The Long Tail

The full top 100 runs from 52.1M all the way down to 692.2K at #100. That's a huge spread for one board, and it means plenty of apps clustered near the bottom are still doing serious, steady business even if nobody's paying attention to them.

There's real movement up top as well. The average top ten app has shifted 4 spots over the window we've tracked, which makes this one of the more volatile boards on the site. 抖音's hold on #1 looks strong right now. Whether it stays that way is another matter entirely.
