One Company, Five Seats at the Table

Google pulls off something nobody else on this board manages: five separate slots in the top 100. Only one of them is actually recognizable by name, though. YouTube sits at #2 with 49.2M ratings, trailing 抖音's 52.1M by less than 3M. That's the tightest gap anywhere near the top of this list, and it still wasn't quite enough to hang onto the crown.

A Crown That Just Moved

抖音, made by Beijing Douyin Technology Co., Ltd., now holds #1 after taking the spot from YouTube in July 2026. What makes this notable is that the app is brand new to the top ten, so jumping straight to first place is no small feat. It's the only handover tracked in this window, and 抖音 has already held #1 for 64 of the last 71 days measured. Once YouTube lost its grip early on, it never got it back.

Everywhere else in the top ten, position churn averages a modest 1.6 places over that same stretch. So this single flip is really the headline event up there, not some gradual reshuffling.

The Shape of the Whole List

Ratings fall off a cliff as you move down the list, from 52.1M at #1 to just 3.8M at #100, a drop of more than 13x. 抖音 alone pulls in 7.4 times the median count across the full top 100. This isn't a gentle taper; it's a steep drop followed by a long, flat tail. Spotify: Music and Podcasts at #3 (42.4M) and Instagram at #4 (29.5M) are still well clear of the pack, but by the time you reach Walmart: Shopping & Savings at #11 (18.6M), the numbers have roughly halved from where the top three sit.

The real oddity here is 爱奇艺-《我不是大师》以骗治骗 at #6 (26.2M). It's the only entry this high on the list that folds a show title directly into its app name rather than going with a platform or brand, and despite that quirk, it still outpulls Walmart, Lyft, and Uber Eats: Food & Groceries.

Who Else Doubles Up

Meta Platforms shows up twice: Facebook at #5 (28.6M) and Messenger at #19 (13.7M). Tencent lands two games back to back too, 和平精英 at #16 and 王者荣耀 at #17, with only a few hundred thousand ratings separating them. Uber Technologies also doubles up, placing Uber - Rides, Eats, Hotels at #14 (16.9M) alongside Uber Eats: Food & Groceries at #24 (10.8M).

None of these pairs come anywhere near Google's five, but the pattern underneath them is the same one driving everything: companies that keep shipping updates to their flagship apps keep showing up on a board that's basically built to reward just that.
